ORIGINAL REVIEW: 2 July 2004 |
This review is for when the place was Colorz - it's soon to re-open as a nightclub called Blue...
Colorz Venue is just the same as Bar Oz always was but with a hasty coat of paint that attempts, but fails, to bring some life back into the place. The surf board tables are gone and in place are a couple of new pool tables, which is a plus point. Unless you're here for one of the live music events I guess the place is nearly always as empty as when we dropped by. Colorz Venue would be ideal for you if you like darkness, being underground, and the letter Z - otherwise there's little to get excited about. G.
Well I like the letter Z so I'm happy. I say that, I'm lying! As G-Man said, 'Z' is the theme and here you can go to the 'Ladiez' and the 'Gentz' - well, you should only go to one of them but you get my drift! It was rather dark and a bit srcuffy and felt like a bit of a dive really, which as mentioned, is zurprizing for a place which has recently been taken over. I can't think of a zingle reason to recommend it to anyone, so I wont. Although, you might get a game of pool if you fanzy one. Z.
You're a zany guy! G.

BEER EXPERIENCE |
Poor selection and no real ales. Still got Fosters, unfortunately, but the other "Australian" brews from it's Bar Oz days have gone. G.
Looked thin on the ground for beers really and didn't really notice what bottles they had chillin'. The Kronenbourg seemed a bit fizzy as well so the beer wont be dragging me back to this one. S.

"Absolute crap, I asked for a flat pint and the bird got into an argument with me over "5% head", the staff have attitude and it takes hours to get served, and no consistent DJ"

"This is one of the worst bar/pubs I have ever been too. The attitude in there is bad. I swear people go there for a fight, it's small dark and smelly! Never again!"

"I was disgusted with how the staff treat customers, I asked for a Fosters top (a lager with a dash of lemonade in the bottom), I am also a rather fussy person when it comes to lager and I specifically asked for no head. Working in a pub myself I can see they really don't have a clue how to pour pints to simple specification. After I demanded a flat pint, it was taken away and I was refused service!"
