ORIGINAL REVIEW: 5 November 2004 |
It's a tricky place to review, since really it's a place to eat and not a pub at all. However, there is a bar complete with bar stools and you're welcome to turn up for a drink or two at the bar - so it just about qualifies! In fact, with four or us and two other people sat at the bar it was as busy as some of the pubs we've turned up at... The bar is a raised semi-circle area overlooking everyone eating and it was pleasant enough. I can't score it highly because there wasn't enough to give points to! G.
Funny old fella isn't he. It was a small bar area but I thought it was very pleasant, I always like sitting up at the bar, and from here you had a nice view over the pretty lights of the Oracle. And you could watch people eat their lovely looking dinners whilst getting rather hungry yourself. It's a trendy kind of place so it's rather nice to sit at the bar and have a trendy Mexicano beer. I could see myself coming here for a drink as opposed to some of the other restaurant/bars we have been to. Having said that, I probably wont! S.

BEER EXPERIENCE |
"Dos Equis Amber is a rich, full-bodied Mexican import with a reddish-gold color and is made from the finest ingredients, representing the brand’s traditional Mexican heritage. The history of Dos Equis Amber is traced to the development of the popular Oktoberfest-style of Vienna lager originally created during the mid-19th century." says the Dos Equis website. They're not wrong, although mine tasted rather limey with a wedge of fruit stuck in the top. Anyway... draught lagers were Stella and Budweiser and there was Guinness but no bitters. Happy hour gave a buy 2 get one free offer, which was nice. G.
this was nice and we enjoyed it very much thanks. though we were a bit perplexed that a mexican themed place stocked with mexican bottles of beer didn't have any Mexican beer on tap! Funny old world!. S.
