ORIGINAL REVIEW:
20 September 2004

The restaurant is round one side and there's a dedicated bar round the other side. Old Orleans is a seriously themed place - with some crazy decor covering every inch of the place and musical instruments hanging from the ceiling. Some weird half fans too - have a look and you'll see what I mean. Not sure what to make of the place really. It was alright for a chain place. G.
Yeah, I'm keen to give it a decent score. Decor was a cut above and some proper effort had gone in to the deep south/colonial theme, which made me feel I was very near the Mississippi itself! We seemed to remember it actually gets quite busy at the bar area at the weekends which helps with the atmos as well. Also I got to ask the barmaid for a 'screaming multiple orgasm' and she gladly obliged, so it can't be all bad! S.
Been here for food since and very pleasantly suprised. Big meals and good service in the restuarant side of the place. G.

BEER EXPERIENCE

Just a couple of beers on tap - nothing exciting. A reasonable selection of bottles. However, a very very large cocktail menu fitting in with the deep South theme. If you arrive in happy hour then the most popular cocktails are £2.75 - which seems like a good deal. Not a cocktail man myself but if you are you might like this place! G.
Not a cocktail man - you little liar. We've all seen you sipping Margarita's by a crystal blue Italian stream (I'm not sure that's quite right. I remember, it was kissing Valentino by the stream, but was there anything about Margarita's in it then. I better check. Right I’ve checked and there is nothing about sipping Margarita's. I must be thinking of something though. Anyone?!) Anyway, don't hide your feminine side G, we all know its there, now just let it out! Yeah, drinks then, a bottle of MGD (which was too visually demonstrated as being only just over a pathetic half pint of beer) was nice enough but the happy hour price of £1.50 was the clincher. Cocktails galore though, Sarah will be a bit gutted she wasn't here for this one. S.
Flippin' 'eck - what's all this Italian stream business. E-Mails using the feedback form to the usual address. Personally I think S-Man's been on the magic mushrooms again! G.

VISITOR FEEDBACK [Give Your Feedback]

"More beer here now with Stella and Fosters, also Carling, all on tap."

"I really like it in here and feel you rating is a bit harsh. I know its a pub review but Old Orleans is primarily a restaurant. I've always enjoyed my visits to Old Orleans and would say its one of the better places to go for food or a drink in the Town centre."
