|Oh yes, well, patio with pond (see pic) and we took full advantage of it and despite being in the car park, it was ok.

This pub is an olde worlde type affair of a building and very nice it is too as it is set out on 3 different levels. It even has a Grand Father clock! Standard set up inside with some really awful carpet but you kinda didn't notice as it was all rather quaint. Billiards too if you know how to play the game.
Not a bad effort for this type of pub. However, I'm sure G will fill you in on the superb customer service you get when you mention the beer you have been given tastes decidedly dodgy! S.
They didn't score high on customer service it's true - but the landlord was a nice enough geezer. The locals seemed like a reasonable bunch too. I've just remembered they had very weird prices too - something like £2.31 for the "beer" and £2.63 for the Kronie. Strange (but not cheap). Even stranger was the food prices with pud from 95 pence and most main courses less than 3 quid! Crazy cheap! The pub itself - the building - was excellent - real time warp stuff exactly as Stevie describes. Dark, proper pub tables and chairs - and big too. Must be great in there on a cold winter's night. However it was summer, so we took advantage of the big patio round the back and good number of benches. Although we only took advantage of one bench and table combo and not them all. That would have been silly unless we were playing musical chairs. Which we weren't. G.
Interestingly, when I walked into the Pub all the beers were off and G had a rather odd smelling and tasting Bombadiere to drink! I opted for the Kronie as it was a warm summers eve and a nice cool refreshing lager was just the ticket. Can't remember the other beers on offer, apart from Guinness. Elaborate for the people will you G-man. S.
Ah, yes, they looked all set up for a selection of proper beers but none were available apart from Bombardier. A few sips in an it was clear that even that beverage shouldn't have been available. I made my thoughts known but the lady behind the bar didn't seem to be quite "getting it", which knocked me a bit off stride to be honest. Maybe it was me that was crazy in the head and perhaps my taste buds were malfunctioning in the heat? Yes, that must have been it. So off I went and had a few more sips. But it just wasn't happening and if I'd finished the pint I might not be here today to tell the story. Luckily my next visit to the bar found a more sympathetic landlord who had just got the Pedigree back-on. He held a tester up to the light and all was well, the Gods were kind, and I had my replacement beer. Plenty of interesting floaty bits and more than a bit cloudy - but wow, it tasted great compared to the first one. Not sure if it was good or not but compared to the first it was simply beer heaven. Praise the lord! G.

"It is now under new ownership and a beautiful building. The new owners have injected a new lease of life into the place. All shelves are stocked all beers taste great and they are introducing food in January.
Such a historic building just on the outskirts of the town center and is well worth a visit with a pool table, darts boards and a great juke box."
